Overview
The Ecology and Biodiversity programme at the University of Denver provides students with a comprehensive scientific foundation in the study of natural environments and living organisms. This curriculum is designed to foster analytical expertise through a combination of theoretical study and practical laboratory experiences.
Students can choose between a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science pathway depending on their career goals and interests in supplementary sciences. Both tracks ensure that graduates possess the research skills necessary to address complex environmental challenges and contribute to the field of biological sciences.
Why Ecology and Biodiversity at the University of Denver?
The University of Denver offers a distinctive learning environment within the Department of Biological Sciences, focusing on high-impact research and academic excellence. Students benefit from modern facilities in F. W. Olin Hall, where they participate in hands-on labs that bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world application.
The institution is known for its strong emphasis on undergraduate research, providing a research-oriented honours distinction programme for high-achieving students. Furthermore, the university maintains global partnerships, such as the Global Masters Scholars programme with Lund University and the University of Western Australia.
These international links allow dedicated students to pursue accelerated pathways, potentially earning both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in just five years. The department also provides specialised pre-health education and advising for those looking to integrate ecological knowledge into medical or veterinary careers.
