Engineers solve problems and some of today's biggest are environmental. Lead the charge to improve the human condition and the state of our planet with an environmental engineering degree.The Environmental Engineering program of Central Michigan University offers you a unique opportunity to apply what you've learned in your science and engineering courses to the important work of improving and maintaining the environment. It’s a fine balancing act that requires a unique set of skills that our program will teach you.

The program provides both breadth and depth across the range of engineering topics in analysis, design and sustainability of waste management techniques. Engineering, soil sciences, biochemistry, and biology are all part of the blend of knowledge you need to do this important work.

General requirements

We take several things into consideration when evaluating applications for admission, including GPA, test scores (optional) and academic improvement over time.

As part of the online application, you’ll need to pay a $40 application fee. If your family is experiencing financial hardship, speak to your high school guidance counselor to see whether you qualify for a fee waiver.

You may submit an unofficial transcript with your application, or ask your school counselor to submit your official transcript. We can provide an admission decision and merit scholarship with either one. Keep us updated with new transcripts at the end of each semester. It may mean an upgrade in your scholarship.

You don’t have to submit a test score in order to be admitted and earn a merit award.
