Biomedical engineers conduct research and study the engineering aspects of biological systems to create new devices and procedures to improve health and quality of life. The Biomedical Engineering (Instrumentation, Signals and Imaging Track) program of The University of Akron focuses on electrical engineering with specialization in:

biomedical instrumentation

signal and imaging processing
imaging devices and detectors

system simulations
