Graduates of this program go on to apply their complex knowledge of management and engineering to design and deliver solutions for manufacturing, product development, and service delivery. Management Engineering is a popular double major for many Worcester Polytechnic Institute undergraduates.

WPI's distinctive undergraduate education combines rigorous theory with hands-on application. Across your four years you'll be expected to apply your knowledge in innovative ways to solve significant, real-world problems. As a management engineering major, your senior capstone project typically will be designed for a functioning business that sponsors your project on topics ranging from a situational and cost analysis for an aggregate and asphalt plant to an analysis of change management in academia.

Curriculum

The BS in Management Engineering curriculum lets you tailor a course of study based on your interests and career goals. You’ll complete basic introductory courses in math, calculus, statistics, science, and computer science. You will complete the Management core courses and six technical courses. The MGE major allows students who begin in one discipline, such as engineering, science, or mathematics, to apply a portion of their prior course work if they switch to MGE.
