By integrating analyses of place, space and time, the faculty and students—together with practitioners and researchers around the world—use geodesign to improve environmental resiliency on all scales, from neighborhoods sites to regions to our planet Earth. Key Features

An interdisciplinary major that brings together science, policy, and landscape architecture, the Geodesign degree at University of Southern California challenges students to use spatial information set in the context of the built environment and policy. Using design and location-based data, students develop skills that connect place, space, and time to foster collaboration, build consensus, reach decisions, and take actions that create resilient and healthy environments.

Scientific and Design Skills

Ethics/Society: Be able to place spatial and geographic knowledge into an ethical context, especially how spatial sciences and geodesign principles can contribute to the resolution of ethical, social, and environmental issues.

After Graduation: Develop a sufficient depth of knowledge and abilities in preparation for entry-level employment in a wide variety of fields, or for graduate study in the spatial sciences or other related disciplines.
