Liberal Studies Pre-Law majors who select a law school career path receive intensive advising, LSAT preparation guidance, assistance with personal statement preparation, direction in letters of recommendation selection, and support throughout the Law School Admission Council’s application process. Pre-Law majors are also encouraged to participate actively in the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA) or the Henry Frye Pre-Law Society, named after a distinguished A&T alumnus who  became the first African-American to serve on the Supreme Court of North Carolina.

Programme Structure

  • The Pre-Law curriculum offers students broad range of interdisciplinary exposure to develop students’ writing, speaking and thinking skills and to foster an understanding of American institutions and values. 
  • The Pre-Law Concentration courses are intended to help students understand the relationship between law and morality and the role of law in society, develop skills in argument analysis, and explore various areas of the law.

General Requirements

  • International students must meet all criteria for unconditional acceptance into a degree program of study at North Carolina A&T and provide documented proof of ability to meet financial responsibilities associated with enrollment and living expenses.
  • Standardized Testing Scores (ACT, SAT) must be officially reported to N.C. A&T by the testing agency.
  • Submit Official Transcripts. Transcripts should be sent officially to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, signed and sealed, via postal mail. 
  • Submit Application Fee. A non-refundable application fee payment of $60 is required to complete your admissions application.
