Overview

As a BAAS Information Technology student at Texas A&M University Central Texas, you will engage in hands-on course work in a small class setting to ensure direct engagement and learning with your professors. 

The pathway program enables those with an Associate of Applied Science degree, including the AAS programmer Analyst degree, to build a foundation in systems analysis and design, programming, database management, data communications, networking, software engineering, algorithms, cybersecurity, and today’s cutting edge technologies. 

Students may complete the program by obtaining up to 33 hours of credit for the relevant program coursework, certifications, non-academic and military Information Technology training in the field. 

Program Student Learning Outcomes

Upon Completion of the program students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the ability to orally communicate effectively on technical and non-technical subjects in information technology.
  • Demonstrate the ability to write effectively on technical and non-technical subjects in information technology.
  • Work well independently and as a part of diverse teams.
  • Evaluate the implications of an ethical dilemma from a variety of ethical frameworks/perspectives and produce a well-reasoned resolution.
  • Analyze business requirements and design appropriate Information technology solutions.
  • Identify and evaluate Information technology solutions for business situations and select optimal solutions to meet the organization’s needs.
  • Demonstrate an ability to apply general knowledge and skill related to data communications and infrastructure solutions to an organization's Information technology needs.
