About

The mission of the Medical Laboratory Sciences program of University of Central Florida is to prepare students to become competent and professional medical laboratory science practitioners.

Overview

Graduates will have mastered entry-level competencies upon graduation that will ensure successful passing scores on national certification exams.

The Medical Laboratory Sciences program of University of Central Florida meets the educational eligibility criteria for a national board exam for medical laboratory science/medical technology as well as state licensure. Both completion of the degree program and certification by the national board will meet licensure requirements by the State of Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel. We are unable to confirm licensure and/or certification requirements of other states. If you intend to pursue such credentialing in your state or elsewhere, we advise you to contact the applicable state credentialing authority to familiarize yourself with its specific requirements and determine if our program meets its eligibility criteria.

The program is nationally accredited by the NAACLS (National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences) and is licensed by the Florida Department of Health Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel as a training program.
