A degree in English (Dual - Accelerated) at Wichita State University will equip you with skills that lead to diverse career options in the public and private sectors from advertising agencies and the film industry to non-profits and academia.

Programme Structure

Course content:

Students admitted to the dual/accelerated program will be allowed to enroll in courses for graduate credit, including 800-level courses, prior to completing undergraduate degree requirements.

At most 9 credit hours may be joint degree hours — hours taken for graduate credit at the 700 level (or above) that are also applied to both the bachelor’s degree and master’s degree program requirements.

If this deviation is requested, joint-degree hours may not include workshop courses, undergraduate core curriculum courses, cooperative education courses, or courses that are prerequisite for the graduate program.

Where courses specify differing requirements for graduate and undergraduate students (500–799), the student must meet the requirements for graduate students to apply the course to graduate credit.

A student who has previously been admitted to a graduate degree program at Wichita State may not be admitted to this program.

Have a cumulative 2.25 or higher GPA on a 4.00 scale, OR

Achieve an ACT composite of 21 or higher OR a minimum combined SAT ERW+M score of 1060 (test optional for admission)

And, if applicable, achieve a 2.0 GPA on all college credit taken in high school.

Students must submit final high school transcripts.

Transcripts or examination results may be sent away for verification. If selected, it may take some time for the verification results to be returned.

The TOEFL or IELTS are not required to apply.
