Improving people's health and well-being by confronting complex health issues such as improving access to health care, controlling infectious diseases, violence, substance abuse, and injury. Focus is on education and the prevention side of health care.

Working in a diverse and dynamic field that provides public health services to individuals from all age groups, in multiple settings, and affords the opportunity to work with professionals from myriad other disciplines such as sociology, psychology, anthropology, biology, chemistry, communication, mathematics, business, nursing, occupational science, social work, political science, and government.

Degree Benefits

This long-standing program is the only CEPH accredited undergraduate program in the state of Kentucky.

Seniors complete an internship (HEA 463) where they apply the skills they have learned in the program to real life problems.

Students who graduate from this program are ready to sit for the CHES exam to become Certified Health Education Specialists.

The School Health option provides the opportunity to teach in K-12 institutions.

A degree in Public Health enables students to intervene in community and individual settings to help people stay healthier.

Fill out the free online application. Students must indicate the major they wish to pursue in order for an I-20 to be issued.
Submit a copy of your valid passport
Submit transcripts:

Complete secondary school records reflecting a cumulative grade of 75% (2.5 GPA equivalent) or higher.

Submit an official copy of your high school diploma or graduation certificate (if applicable).
Provide a declaration of finances - A Certificate of Eligibility (I-20 or DS-2019) will not be authorized until financial verification is received. Providing false information may jeopardize visa status and result in the University revoking acceptance. U.S. immigration law requires international students to prove they have funds available for their educational and living expenses.
