This major prepares you for careers in community or nonprofit organizations, higher education, international development, urban planning, social work, government and more. It is the only degree program of its kind in Colorado, and is part of a small number of emerging community engagement degrees nationwide.Through this program, students develop a deep conceptual understanding of theories of leadership, public policy and social change. Additionally, they use hands-on work in the community to produce a capstone project that addresses a local leadership challenge. The course work builds on the work of CU Engage: Center for Community-Based Learning and Research.
