Some of our students have also been recognized for their research. In addition, we have a diverse and supportive faculty. They have been recognized for their teaching, consulting, and research. To help stimulate research activity for students and faculty, we have an active bi-weekly research colloquium series consisting of research talks given by local, national and international researchers in the mathematical sciences
Department programs and faculty research have been supported by the National Science Foundation, National Security Agency, Department of Homeland Security, Rutgers University, Maryland Higher Education Commission, Association of American Colleges and Universities, Calculus Consortium, Insurance Society of Baltimore, Travelers Insurance Company, and other organizations.
Some graduate students are supported by teaching assistantships and tuition stipends, and funded departmental grants. Long and short term visits to the department by distinguished mathematicians from all over the world are encouraged and supported by the Department and University.
