Overview
In Tiffin University’s BBA in Human Resource Management, you’ll develop the skills needed for the effective acquisition, training, performance appraisal, laws and regulations that determine the rights and obligations of employees and employers, job analysis, job evaluation, establishing pay structures and benefits, risk management and loss prevention, management of safety & workers’ compensation, employee assistance plans, preventative health issues, emergency response & preparedness, rewarding and fair treatment of employees – whether you plan on pursuing a career with a Fortune 500 company or a small business.
You’ll begin studying the seven major functions within the human resource field from the start of your first human resource class. Our curriculum was developed around Society of Human Resource Management guidelines for student preparation in completing the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification. Our industry-focused curriculum, along with the strong business core classes, will prepare you for leadership roles within the human resource field.
In each course, you’ll learn from experienced faculty who speak from experience, having served in industry leadership positions including Director of Human Resources, Regional Human Resource Manager, Director of Employee Education and Training, Compliance Manager and more. These experienced experts have managed human resources for some of the nation’s leading companies such as JP Morgan Chase, Whirlpool, Owens Corning, Lowes, Marathon Petroleum, Hercules Tire, Cardinal Health and others.
The field of human resources is growing. Over the last five years, human resources professionals have seen a shift from administrative employees to being seen as a strategic partner within a business. Organizational commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion has contributed to the growth and desire of the field of HR.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics stated that employment opportunities for human resources positions are expected to grow much faster than average in the coming years.
