Politics at Oklahoma Baptist University is the study of coercion—how it works and when it is morally acceptable. We offer you a non-partisan but integrally Christian class environment. The curriculum covers many of the most controversial questions in American politics, but without an expectation that students will conform to either a “politically correct” or “reactionary” perspective.

Internships are where the phrases “I learned” and “I met” come together to help shape your future so that you can do the same for others. We invite you to let OBU faculty introduce you to multiple local political figures in state and federal government. In recent years, our students have served with a U.S. Senator, U.S. Congressmen, and a Texas local judge.
At OBU you will have the invaluable opportunity to participate in the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature. OBU’s representation and success is always strong as students elect officers, assign seats in the House and Senate, write legislation, compete in moot court, and debate bills.
In most of our classes you will be exclusively reading actual primary and secondary texts. The challenge of engaging real scholarly works will prepare you for reading comprehension and for familiarity with ideas better than most other programs.

General requirements

Submit the Undergraduate Admission Application.
Submit an official transcript from every secondary school attended, as well as a certified copy of the results of standardized examinations and of all diplomas or certificates awarded. Your documents need to be translated into English. GPA requirement for Regular Admission is 3.0.
Submit SAT/ACT scores that meet the general standard for admission (ACT – 20, SAT – 1030).
When a student is admitted to Oklahoma Baptist University, they will be sent a letter of acceptance, and then the student will work with the Director of International Students to receive an I-20 (used to obtain a student F-1 visa).
