Overview
The demand for nurses is projected to increase more than any other profession due to the increased care needs of the aging population and the anticipated retirement of seasoned RNs in the field. U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a need for over 1 million new nurses in the next decade.
This Nursing program provides a balance of liberal arts and professional nursing courses. Emphasis is on the nursing process as it pertains to health promotion and health restoration for clients, families, and populations in communities and in acute care settings.
Students at Miami University receive an introduction to clinicals at the end of the sophomore year and participate in off-campus clinicals two days per week during the junior and senior years.
