The Criminal Justice major at the Bethany College is a multi-disciplinary study of crime, its causation, and the criminal justice system, which prepares students for challenging careers, develops leadership skills, and promotes professional ethics and service to the community. It prepares students for professional work and graduate studies.

The curriculum exposes students to the components, processes, and programs of the American justice system. In addition to core courses, students take general and supporting courses that introduce them to the social, historical, and political systems in which criminal justice professionals work.

Our faculty use their experience from working in criminal justice to bring theory and reality to their classes. These faculty members are dedicated to making Bethany a caring and educational experience that fits each student’s individual needs and interests.

  • Additional career perspectives are obtained through internships designed to assist in preparing students for work in their chosen field.
  • On-campus programs, travel courses, and field trips are also arranged by faculty members and the Criminal Justice Club, a student organization.
  • Our graduates are successfully prepared to attain a job in the field of criminal justice and human services or acceptance into a higher learning degree program upon graduation from Bethany College.
