Overview
The Criminal Justice major at the Bethany College is a multi-disciplinary study of crime, its causation, and the criminal justice system, which prepares students for challenging careers, develops leadership skills, and promotes professional ethics and service to the community. It prepares students for professional work and graduate studies.
Faculty use their experience from working in criminal justice to bring theory and reality to their classes. These faculty members are dedicated to making Bethany a caring and educational experience that fits each student’s individual needs and interests.
Careers
- Additional career perspectives are obtained through internships designed to assist in preparing students for work in their chosen field.
- On-campus programs, travel courses, and field trips are also arranged by faculty members and the Criminal Justice Club, a student organization.
- Graduates are successfully prepared to attain a job in the field of criminal justice and human services or acceptance into a higher learning degree program upon graduation from Bethany College.

General requirements
- Application for Admission
- Official high school or secondary school transcripts (with at least six semesters)
- All official post-secondary school transcripts
- Minimum high school GPA of 2.0 (based on a 4.0 scale). Occasionally the Admissions Committee may admit students on a conditional basis. Individual attention will be given to candidates who demonstrate academic promise but need strengthening in a skills area.
International:
- Students must have their transcripts from all schools outside of the USA submitted to InCred for evaluation and have the results forwarded to Bethany.
- If the student is from an English-speaking country, send ACT or SAT results. If English is not their native language, results from English proficiency tests must be submitted.
- Students must send a signed affidavit of support, a copy of their passport with photo, and a bank letter showing adequate funds to cover the cost of the first year of school or $50,000 minus Bethany Award.
