The programme

The Biology program at Bethany College is designed to achieve the following goals for its students:

  • To experience, develop, and demonstrate an understanding of the scientific method as an approach to problem solving.

  • To help students see their place in the evolution of living things and to understand the taxonomy and ecology of living things and the student’s place in the world of living organisms.

English Language Requirements

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3.4

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3.4 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • Submit a signed copy of the application agreement statement.
  • Official copies of academic records from all secondary schools, colleges, or universities previously attended. 
  • English language proficiency must be demonstrated for any student whose native language is not English. 
  • For residents of countries with regulated income taxes, please provide documentation of yearly taxable income.
  • Obtain and submit a current certified bank statement, on bank letterhead, showing your family's ability to pay full tuition for one year.
  • One letter of recommendation, preferably from a counselor or teacher.
  • Download and complete the Medical History form.
  • Provide a list of your immunization history.
