Overview
About the programme
The Finance program of Mount Saint Mary College allows you to learn and excel in two fields. Having a business-centered mindset in the study of Finance shows employers that you have multi-facted experience and knowledge in these interconnected fields.
The Mount's approach to business and financial studies is unique in its focus on using these skills to serve others. For example, instead of just learning about financial theory, you may find yourself looking at and suggesting improvements to a local charity's financial plans as part of your coursework.
As in your traditional Business courses, you'll benefit by learning from professionals with experience across a wide variety of industries, from Wall Street to Main Street.
Careers
Part of declaring a Finance concentration involves participating in a financial internship to augment your studies. Past Finance students have interned at organizations such as Morgan Stanley, Allstate, Northwestern Mutual, Walden Savings Bank, Wallkill Valley Federal Savings & Loan, and other financial institutions to further grow their skills.
After graduation, your Mount Business and Finance studies will have preapred you for financial management positions in corporate, government, or nonprofit organizations. Graduates of the 5-year BS/MBA program are additionally qualified for leadership positions in these organizations.
