Furthermore, SWU graduates in this field will be strong and purpose-driven warriors for the Lord in helping others meet and grow in faith through sport and recreation positions.

Students can choose one of two concentration tracks: Administration in Athletics & Recreation concentration or Outdoor Leadership concentration.

Students in RSM program will learn to integrate faith in the field of recreation and sport and be in a position to take on challenging roles as interns and employees in college athletic programs, county and city recreation facilities, professional sports teams, sport-oriented venues, athletically related nonprofit organizations, gyms and fitness facilities, resorts, youth sports organizations, sports councils, parks, schools, and even equipment and apparel manufacturing firms.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 2.3

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent. Official transcripts of all foreign academic work, evaluated by a NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) association member. Click for a list of association members.
  • A GPA of 2.3 converted on a 4.0 scale, or you must rank in upper half of your graduating class at the time of acceptance.
  • A composite SAT score of 860 or ACT score of 18.
  • IELTS or TOEFL score if English is not your first/native language.
