Through the lens of Christian faith, you will focus on studying and interpreting the past, including gathering, recording, synthesizing, and critiquing evidence and theories.

You will develop a broad understanding of the human condition and explore current social questions, issues, and problems. Pursuing a degree in History and Public Policy at Southern Wesleyan University will improve your critical thinking and analytical skills, ability to see issues from multiple perspectives, and capacity for noticing patterns and predicting likely outcomes.

Graduates of the History and Public Policy program will be able to:

Speak and write confidently about the fundamental principles of the American heritage, including the role of the Christian faith in forming those principles.

Create a philosophical framework for guiding policy development based on inquiry into and analysis of those principles across time.

Formulate and apply policy solutions to contemporary challenges, issues, and questions.

Conduct effective and meaningful original historical research.

A GPA of 2.3 (or rank in upper half of your graduating class at time of acceptance) and a composite SAT score of 860 (based on the critical reading/verbal and math sections) or an ACT score of 18 or CLT score of 54

Or a GPA of 3.0 or higher and no test scores
