The Bachelor of Arts in American Indian Studies offered by Northeastern State University is designed for those interested in the cultural heritage and history of American Indian peoples. 


The major is a multi-disciplinary liberal arts program with required courses in anthropology, history, literature, and political science or criminal justice. Electives can be chosen from a broad choice of subjects which focus on Native Americans and their experiences as well as their influences within society.

American Indian Studies majors at Northeastern State University must also select a minor or a second major. Suggested minors include: Anthropology, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Health Care Administration, History, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Legal Studies, Sociology, and Social Welfare. A student may select a second major in one of the above areas, or combine American Indian Studies with another appropriate major.
