Overview

The Spanish program, offered by Greenville University, offers language instruction starting from the beginning level and continuing through the advanced language learning levels. Various Spanish upper-division courses focus on the study of the literature and culture of Spanish speaking communities around the world. For those interested in educating others in these areas, we offer majors in English and Spanish Education, as well as offering a certificate program in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Language.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 2.25

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.25 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • College Transcripts (if the student has attended any colleges previously)
  • ACT or SAT scores (required only of entering freshmen and transfer students with fewer than 30 college credits). ACT composite of 18*, or SAT (Math + Critical Reading) of 860
  • References (only if requested by the Admissions Committee)
  • If a student is not a native English speaker, then the college will consider the TOEFEL in lieu of the ACT or SAT for a freshman and may require the TOEFEL for a transfer student.
