Overview

Those who enter human services might work with youths at risk, the elderly or people experiencing problems related to poverty, substance abuse or the justice system. Those who enter the business world might work in sales, marketing, customer relations or human resources. 

We offer a bachelor degree in Sociology at the Saint Vincent College. Others may choose a teaching career. Sociology also offers valuable preparation for careers in journalism, politics, public relations, business or public administration — fields that involve investigative skills and working with diverse groups. 

In addition, an undergraduate degree in sociology is excellent preparation for future graduate work in sociology in order to become a professor, researcher or applied sociologist.

  • Submit original or certified copies of the original and official academic record, transcript or examination results for the completion of secondary education. Official documents not issued in English must be accompanied by a certified English translation.
  • Submit the application fee of $25 or waiver form.
  • Submit an official result of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Test System (IELTS). TOEFL score of 79 on the IBT and 6.5 on the IELTS or higher is required for applicants.
  • The SAT is NOT required.
  • Writing sample or essay.
  • Scanned copy of passport photo page.
