Overview

Concordia University’s Biology Department has a very serious commitment to research and research design. Students are trained in experimental design, proposal writing and submission, real world constraints on data collection, statistical data analysis, and a variety of other research protocols.

The goal is to provide an experience that gives you the flexibility to design a research project motivated by your own interests, carry out that experiment, and then write up the results of the research in a refereed journal format.

Outcomes

As a major at the Biology program from Concordia University Irvine, you will complete a senior research thesis that will prepare you for advanced study or careers in the sciences in a way that many universities cannot.

The program can open doors to a multitude of careers in research, education, industry, forensics, and professional positions in various areas within the allied health profession.

General requirements

Complete the online application.
Submit a transcript from each secondary and post-secondary school attended, current through the time of application. High School transcripts will be considered official only when sent through the mail in a sealed envelope or hand-carried to Concordia University Irvine in a sealed envelope.
All non-US equivalent transcripts must arrive with a certified English evaluation and translation documenting your coursework, examinations taken, grades received, passing and maximum marks, and evidence of secondary school graduation.
If you attended high school outside of the USA, your transcript must be evaluated by one of the members of NACES.
The student must submit scores from one of the following standardized tests: Duolingo, SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS.
