Learn the art and business of theatre through four years of intense hands-on learning with the Theatre program of Heidelberg University. Our students become writers, designers, directors, and actors who understand their craft and how to navigate the art world.

Overview

Majors in the Theatre program of Heidelberg University learn by doing. From building sets and sewing costumes to writing and directing plays, you’ll experience the full spectrum of professional theatre. From the beginning, you’ll work closely with faculty to chart your educational path that aligns with your career goals. We will work with you to fulfill all of your college wish list while still providing you the necessary skills to succeed in the professional world.

Every year, the department produces a variety of performances including musicals, dramas, and student-written one acts. Recent productions include Diary of Anne Frank, Little Women, How I Learned to Drive, Sister Act, Guys and Dolls, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Laramie Project, Romeo and Juliet, Avenue Q, Young Frankenstein, Shrek the Musical, and The Drowsey Chaperone.
