The Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science is administered by the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science within the College of Arts and Sciences. This degree gives students the opportunity to obtain a thorough understanding of computers and their applications, and in the design and analysis of software and hardware systems for use in scientific and/or business environments.

Overview

Students pursuing a Computer Science degree have access to state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. The Computer Science Research Lab has two networks for student application development including multiple Windows XP and Sun Solaris servers and corresponding workstations. In addition, equipment is available for students to set up their own networks. Students have also set up a Linux cluster with 30 processors and worked with programming Lego Robots and Corobot. An additional Computer Science Classroom contains 32 networked PCs for instruction in software development and use.
