Accounting is a profession in demand, with widespread opportunities for fast-track growth.- Public accountants provide a broad range of accounting, auditing, tax and consulting services. The graduates work at international firms, including EY, PwC, KPMG and Deloitte, as well as regional and local firms.
- Management accountants support the management functions of planning, directing and controlling operations within an organization. The graduates often begin as financial analysts, budget analysts and staff accountants and move into roles such as program manager, controller, chief financial officer and chief executive officer.
- Government regulators audit organizations and individuals at the federal, state and municipal levels. Federal agencies include the Internal Revenue Service, Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Reserve and Federal Deposit and Insurance Corporation.
- Internal auditors perform compliance and operational audits within their organization. They examine and evaluate an organization’s internal controls, financial and information systems, management procedures and the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.

General requirements
- Submit via the Common Application.
- $50 application fee.
- Official high school transcript, including grades from the senior year.
- Two letters of recommendation (one from a school counselor and one from the teacher of your choice).
- Personal essay.
- SAT/ACT scores are optional for all applicants. Students who do not submit scores will not be disadvantaged in the admissions process. If English is not your first language, the results from a TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo English proficiency test are required.
- Students applying for dance, music or theatre are required to submit an audition.
- Students applying for the studio art or technical theatre majors are required to submit a portfolio of 1-5 pieces through their student status page.
- Home-schooled applicants must submit a transcript and school profile when following a prescribed curriculum. In cases where that is not available, applicants may submit a copy of all course descriptions and a portfolio of work.
