Overview

NNU has a 60 year history of great students studying physics. Graduates of the Physics program from Northwest Nazarene University have gone on to be researchers, business leaders, and even astronauts! Over the past fifteen years, every graduate has either had a job offer or has been accepted into graduate school after finishing their degree. We are proud of this record and work very hard to preserve it.

Overview

We have a new machine shop and electronics lab that allows us to design and build many different experiments.

Professors in our department work closely with you and emphasize hands-on learning. During your sophomore year, students take an experimental physics sequence which teaches methods of research and computer interfacing of experiments. This educational model is highly regarded by employers and graduate schools and requires you to complete a research project by the end of the first semester of your senior year. The research project is also presented to the faculty during your last semester. This is one of many ways you will gain beneficial professional experience.

We work closely with our students and develop relationships that last a lifetime. At NNU, you will always have access to the faculty for help and advice. Combine an excellent academic program with social activities in a Christian environment and you have a wonderful opportunity to prepare yourself for a successful and rewarding professional career.
