A Unique Curriculum for a Changing World

In addition to the rigorous curriculum of the Engineering program of Wartburg College, our students are encouraged to take full advantage of the college community. Many of our graduates have participated in athletics or music ensembles and held key leadership roles in student organizations.The college’s facilities, which include a new Innovation Studio, gives students a chance to work with a variety of technologies, including a 3-D printer, laser cutter, and conventional and CNC machining equipment.

First-year Engineering

In their first engineering course, Wartburg students learn about the design process and the service nature of engineering by redesigning children’s games for kids with disabilities.

Robotic Design Competition

As part of the electronics course, student teams design, build, and test autonomous robots. Public demonstrations are held each year on RICE Day.

Senior Design

In senior design, Wartburg students partner with nonprofits in our community and around the world to design, build, test, and deliver a device engineered to solve a problem that the students and community partner identify together.
