From learning about multicultural differences and adaptive technologies to becoming familiar with how different disabilities affect learning, you will develop the knowledge and awareness necessary to work with special-needs students.

Your coursework is only the beginning. Because the Metropolitan State University of Denver stresses career readiness, your Special Education program will provide you with significantly more field experience than is required by the state, so you develop important skills that you will bring with you into your own classrooms.
You will also have the chance to customize your MSU Denver Special Education program to your interests by choosing one of four concentrations: Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education or Secondary Education.

- If your academic documents are issued in a non-English language, you must submit a complete, literal, word-for-word English translation in the same format as the original academic document.
- Official secondary (high school) documents are sent to MSU Denver directly from an official source, such as your school, ministry of education office, or examination board. Your documents must show all final results and a graduation date.
- You must submit a bank statement or letter AND a completed financial affidavit form before you can receive an I-20 if admitted to MSU Denver.
