Overview

The Meredith College Theatre program entertains and educates the Meredith College community and the Triangle area with four main-stage productions and up to four student led productions each year.

Theatre majors can expect a rigorous training program and will receive ample opportunity to perform, manage, and design based upon her drive and area of interest.

Meredith offers a B.A. in Theatre, a K-12 Licensure in Theatre, and a Musical Theatre concentration. The faculty are all active professionally in their area of expertise and frequently offer students the opportunity to gain experience outside the college campus.

Careers

Meredith’s theatre program lets you learn from, and work with, faculty who are professional actors, designers, and directors. The program provides a setting for technical skill development, creative exploration, and artistic scholarship.

While earning a Bachelor of Arts in theatre, majors can focus in performance, production, or musical theatre.K-12 licensure in theatre arts is available for those who wish to teach. In addition, a theatre minor and an arts management minor are also offered.

Complete fully and return the Meredith College application for admission, along with the $40 application fee.

Have the appropriate school official(s) forward an official copy of the secondary-school record, complete with a listing of courses taken, grades obtained, credit received and rank in class; college or university transcript(s) if the student has taken any advanced work

If the student’s native language or primary language of instruction is English, take the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) of The College Board.

Send a school official recommendation and an academic teacher recommendation.

Students who are submitting university transcripts must also provide an independent course-by-course evaluation
