Internships

Real-world professional experience is critical to student success, so all communication majors are required to complete at least one internship. Students have gained hands-on experience in public relations, radio and TV production, marketing, human resources, and event planning.

Outcomes

Students in the Communication program offered by Meredith College learn to critically examine the format, content, meaning and production of messages distributed across a variety of media.

The core curriculum equips students with knowledge of communication theories and practices, while the mass and interpersonal concentrations allow them to delve deeper in their area of academic interest.

Majors develop the skills to analyze and interpret contemporary media; influence attitudes, beliefs and values through written and oral communication; solve problems; and are prepared to practice communications legally and ethically.

Complete fully and return the Meredith College application for admission, along with the $40 application fee.

Have the appropriate school official(s) forward an official copy of the secondary-school record, complete with a listing of courses taken, grades obtained, credit received and rank in class; college or university transcript(s) if the student has taken any advanced work

If the student’s native language or primary language of instruction is English, take the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) of The College Board.

Send a school official recommendation and an academic teacher recommendation.

Students who are submitting university transcripts must also provide an independent course-by-course evaluation
