The objectives of the major in religion are to develop an understanding of the world's religions as historical and cultural phenomena through the study of the various religious traditions, including their history, sacred texts, beliefs, rituals and institutions, and to envelop an understanding of the fundamental role of religion in the life of individuals and of the human race.
