Overview

With two concentrations in biomedical science and marine science, the Biology students from Georgia College graduate with a well-trained, broad perspective on current biological science topics and have field and laboratory experience that will make them competitive in the job market or prepared to continue their education.

All undergraduate biology majors will receive thorough instruction in the scientific process and interpretation of scientific data along with experimental design and experience with modern instrumentation.

The Bachelor of Science in Biology will provide students with a sound understanding of cellular and molecular biology, organismal biology, evolution and ecology.

Careers

Many Biology graduates have successfully applied to medical school, dental school, veterinary school, and pharmacy school programs.

Recent graduates have furthered their education in graduate programs at UAB, University of Iowa, Georgia Tech, UGA, Emory, The Mayo Clinic, University of Tennessee, University of Bern (Switzerland), University of Helsinki (Finland), among others.

Graduates of the program are also successfully employed in the biopharmaceutical industry, education fields, state, and federal government.
