Overview
About the programme
- The Art History Concentration of the Art program of Georgia College is a focused exploration of art history and theory.
- The Fine Art Studio Concentration prepares the student for professional studio practice across mediums.
- The Museum Studies Concentration focuses on museums and future employment opportunities within the museum, gallery and curatorial fields.
- The Graphic Design Concentration provides students with the applicable skills, knowledge, and professional proficiency for every aspect of the graphic design profession.
All concentrations prepare students for further study at the graduate level, and to meet the demands of a workforce requiring exceptional creative problem solving skills. All four tracks culminate in a public presentation, at a professional level, of an original creative research project produced during the senior year.
The Art Department's Visiting Artist series as well as the regular exhibitions of renowned Artists in our various galleries expose art majors to current trends in regional, national and international art. Students can work one-on-one with internationally-renowned art professionals (such as artists, curators, art historians and critics) to gain feedback and to make valuable contacts.
