Those choosing theatre management over performance must be savvy in theatre, business operations, and marketing.

Career opportunities

  • At Minot State, our goal is to educate as well as prepare you for the working world. It is no secret — and even a cliché — that a career in the theatre is a hard path to pursue.
  • In order to provide you with the greatest chances of success, we aim to produce well-rounded theatre graduates able to work in any aspect of the theatre world, whether on stage or behind the scenes.
  • We also believe that the skills learned as a theatre minor are invaluable to everyone, no matter where your career path takes you.

Programme Structure

  • Main Stage – Our main performance space is the Harold G. Aleshire Theatre in Harnett Hall.
  • Black Box Theatre – Our Black Box Theatre is the department’s second, infinitely flexible space. It serves as a classroom, meeting room, and performance space for student-produced projects and the occasional mainstage.
  • Msu Campus Players – The oldest student organization on campus, Campus Players is an integral part of the Minot State Theatre Department. In addition to being heavily involved in the mainstage season, Campus Players produce their own work throughout the year.
  • Summer Theatre – The Minot State University Amphitheater has been the home of the MSU Summer Theatre Company since 1971.
