Courses in this Health Promotion program at Longwood University examine current and future health issues and the development of attitudes and behaviors that lead to optimal health throughout life. By targeting three main risk factors – physical activity, nutrition, and toxin consumption – students focus on prevention strategies to decrease morbidity and mortality from chronic diseases and other health-related issues.

Field experiences and completion of an internship in a community health setting provides the knowledge and confidence to apply health promotion skills in a variety of areas.
