As a student in the Speech and Hearing Sciences program from Pennsylvania Western University, you will gain knowledge from expert faculty who care about your success both in and out of the classroom. Small class sizes allow you to interact with faculty and your peers on a personal level.

Our department houses the Governor George Leader Speech and Hearing Center. This clinical site offers assessment and treatment services to adults and children with communication disorders in our community. As an undergraduate student, you will have the opportunity to observe diverse clinical services to see real-world application of classroom content.

In addition, you may volunteer at the preschool classroom Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf Children's Center at Pennsylvania Western University.

Beyond the classroom, we promote student engagement in various professional activities including state and national conferences, creative and research projects, interprofessional collaborations and multicultural experiences.
