Overview
Why Edinboro stands out
At Edinboro, we pride ourselves on our 100-year history of instruction in the visual arts and art education. In addition, our Art Department is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art & Design (NASAD), which sets national standards for excellence in the field.
Although the Painting program at Edinboro University is grounded in traditional practice, you'll explore contemporary concepts to arrive at your own aesthetic expression.
Renowned faculty, each with a wide range of experiences and approaches, will help you develop your skills in color theory, color mixing, light and space, composition and painting techniques. You'll work with still life, the human figure, landscape and contemporary subjects in order to gain in-depth experience.
As a result, you will graduate with a thorough understanding of both traditional and contemporary approaches to painting, ready to take advantage of the unlimited expressive potential of this art form in today's art world.
There is no portfolio review prior to admission. Just bring your passion for the arts and a desire to work hard in a multidisciplinary, highly supportive environment.
