The Applied Management program at Pennsylvania College of Technology prepares students with the skills necessary to meet the business demands of today and the future.

Key Facts

The major focuses on integrating theory and practice so that graduates possess an understanding of the internal and external business environment, including economic, legal, behavioral, ethical and strategic aspects.

The ability to communicate, integrate, and synthesize information from the various business disciplines using knowledge and skills in information systems, decision making, quantitative analysis, and financial modeling complete the major. In addition, students can select from among a list of directed elective courses that will complement their area of interest, which could include accounting, finance, management, marketing, information systems, or small business management/entrepreneurship.

Careers

Graduates have a wide variety of employment opportunities, including advanced positions in their respective technical/professional areas, administrative services, first-line supervisors, industrial production and manufacturing, medical and health services, construction management, hospitality management, and purchasing managers, buyers, and agents. The management skills gained through the major ensure an opportunity to advance in the field. Most of our graduates are employed locally, including family businesses.
