Overview

Kinesiology focuses on the study of human motion and body mechanics and is a broad major that gives students career options in a variety of physical activity, rehabilitation, sport and wellness settings. Students receive a marketable set of skills designed to enhance the health, wellness and physical performance of their clients.

We have state-of-the-art equipment to measure sport performance, exercise physiology and rehabilitation parameters. Faculty have diverse doctoral degrees, represent different areas of specialization and build relationships with students through excellent teaching, scholarship and service. Each year, our program sends students across the world with Global Health Engagement. Through this program, students get to practice their discipline (athletic training, strength and conditioning, physical activity and more) in a unique setting. In recent years, students have traveled to China, Africa and the Philippines.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • Official transcripts. Send us the official sealed copies of all academic records (including transcripts, mark sheets and grade reports, as well as graduation certificates, diplomas and/or completion certificates) from secondary schools, showing dates of attendance, courses taken and grades received. Transfer applicants are required to submit all official college transcripts from all colleges/universities attended.
  • An essay or personal statement. Submit a personal statement (minimum 3–5 paragraphs) responding to "What do you hope to gain from your experience as a student at CBU?"
  • Minimum of 430 on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing  on the SAT.
  • Minimum of 16 on the English section of the ACT.
