Overview

The early years are a critical time in the life of a child. Children and their families need the support and expertise of skilled professionals who understand the rapid development at this stage.

Why study Early Childhood Studies program at California Baptist University?

Early on, students understand the importance of loving ALL children, especially those who have been marginalized through disabilities, race or poverty. The Early Childhood Studies Club is active and each semester we assist children and families in the surrounding community through canned food drives, books for Olive Crest foster care and Thanksgiving meal donations. This is a relational major. We care about each other and the children and families we serve.

Students have conducted observations and practicums primarily in the Riverside, Alvord and Corona-Norco school districts. A few students are “health scholars” at Riverside Community Hospital and some are volunteers at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital and Olive Crest foster care. Alumni have gone on to work at all of the places mentioned above, and more.
