Overview

The Office of International Programs offers a term abroad in Russia. Irkutsk, a city of 600,000, offers a variety of popular activities, including traditional Buryat folk festivals, concerts at the Philharmonic and strolls along the Angara River. 

We offer a bachelor degree in Russian and East European Studies at the Union College. Students tour the Kremlin in Moscow and the Hermitage in St. Petersburg on their excursions to the present-day and former capital of Russia. Journaling and a presentation on campus are key parts of the learning experience.

Careers After Union

  • The Russia and East European major leads to a degree of Bachelor of Arts and is designed primarily for those seeking careers in government service, journalism, law or business. 
  • Our graduates also teach, consult and work in marketing, advertising, aerospace and computer engineering.

  • Apply online using the Common Application or the Coalition Application.
  • Union is SAT/ACT optional 
  • TOEFL, IELTS or the Duolingo English Test is required for all applicants whose first language is not English.
  • Interviews are required for all Chinese and Vietnamese citizens and are recommended for all applicants.
  • CSS Profile and Financial Forms are required for all those applying for need-based financial aid.
  • Other requirements: Essay (part of the online application), Official Secondary School Transcripts/Exam Scores, Teacher and Counselor Recommendation Letters.
