Graduate study or careers in business, banking, education, and law are some of the options for McDaniel history students. The study of History is an engagement with the past – the individuals, societies, and civilizations that have shaped the modern world.
The Department at McDaniel College offers more than 30 courses and seminars on topics ranging from the High Middle Ages to Russian History to the American Revolution. In addition to the major, other options in History include: minors in History, American History, European History, and Classical Civilization, and Teacher Certification Secondary (middle/high school) in Social Studies.
Students who wish to combine the study of history with another discipline may obtain a dual major in History and Art History, History and English, History and Foreign Language, or History and Political Science. Students also have the option to minor in history, with a concentration in American History, European History, or Classical Civilization.
