What Will I Study?

Biola’s engineering physics program will equip students with foundational knowledge in a wide range of real-world topics, preparing them to excel in graduate school and their professional careers.

Students will learn about present-day topics such as:

Chemical kinetics, equilibrium, thermodynamics and electrochemistry

Three levels of calculus, including exploration of infinite sequences, inverse trigonometric functions and curves and surfaces in three-dimensional space

Physics topics including Newtonian mechanics, wave theory, geometric optics and relativity

Computer techniques in science and engineering using MATLAB and LABVIEW computer tools for data analysis

Analysis of stress, strain and deflection of mechanical elements due to tension

The student must be a believer in the Christian faith (the applicant's statement of faith will be articulated in the personal essay section of the application).

The student must have at least a 1000 Evidence-Based Reading and Writing+Math score and a 26 Reading Test score on the New SAT, or a Composite 19 score on the ACT or a 64 CLT score.

The student must have graduated from high school or earned an equivalent degree (GED). The following is a recommended high school curriculum:
