The English degree from Norfolk State University prepares them for graduate school, law school, or various fields that would be of interest to writers.

Interested in teaching?

The B.A. in English with a secondary education endorsement allows you to immediately become qualified to teach English on the secondary level.

The ENFL Department also offers courses for students to minor in English.

Programme Structure

English majors are required to complete 60 hours of general education classes, including four semesters of a foreign language, and 60 hours of English courses that cover both American and British literature.

The program can be completed in 4 years, if the student follows the course curriculum. Those majors with a secondary education endorsement may need an extra semester to complete student teaching.
