Overall growth in this sector is slightly better than the overall labor market, but growth in demand for marketing specialists was in the double-digit range during 2017-2018 and projected to grow even faster over the next 10 years. Although nearly 90% of all job postings require a bachelor's degree, only about one-quarter of positions are open for new graduates. Thus, planning for that first position through internships or interaction with industry organizations will probably be very important. The good news for recent graduates: Hiring isn't isolated in one area, and demand comes across a wide spectrum, from health care and banking to technology.
