Upon completion of this Accounting program, students will be able to:

will know how to prepare, communicate and explain financial statements for profit and for non-profit enterprises.
will demonstrate the ability to use accounting information to assist management in planning, controlling and decision making.
will demonstrate the ability to use accounting data and statements to assure shareholders and other stakeholders that an organization’s financial data is accurate, ethical and presented in such a manner as to preclude fraud and/or misrepresentation.
will understand and compute federal income taxes for individuals and other entities.

Career Pathways and Prospects

A bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of the District of Columbia prepares you for entry-level professional positions as staff accountants, internal auditors and junior accountants in public accounting firms, government agencies or the private sector.
