In the Department of Kinesiology we offer undergraduate programs in athletic training (BS), exercise science (BS), physical education/teacher certification (BS), and sport management (BA and minor) and a graduate program in exercise and sport studies (MS).

Overview

All of our degree programs include small class sizes, opportunities to conduct research with our faculty, and internship experiences in local and out-of-state locations. 

The physical education/teacher certification program provides the scientific background for analyzing and understanding human movement while the performance skill courses equip the prospective teacher with sport and dance skills necessary to be a well-prepared physical education teacher. PE majors are encouraged to complete five specific courses in the Public Health Department so they are eligible to obtain health and physical education certification, grades kindergarten through 12 in New Jersey.

  • If submitting scores, your official SAT or ACT scores sent electronically to William Paterson University from The College Board or the American College Testing Program
  • $50 application fee
  • Admission for international students is based on a review of the appropriate educational documents as well as proficiency in English as measured by the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Testing System (IELTS).
