We’ll help you become a strong, effective, and ethical communicator, and put you on the path to career success. In this program, you’ll pursue the theoretical and practical study of effective communication in many environments.

What You’ll Learn

You’ll study communication theories in public speaking, interpersonal communication, self-communication, intercultural communication and group communication. And, you’ll learn to incorporate these theories into your own speaking style.

Our Speech Communication program at Iona College is guided by the National Communication Association’s (NCA) eight public speaking competencies.

From interpersonal speech through business and professional speaking, from story telling and narrative to communication for the healthcare professional, and gender differences in communication, you’ll have the opportunity to build a solid foundation for further study as well as to identify career opportunities in diverse areas.
